Alchemy, watching your addresses.

How our Custody & wallets module uses Alchemy to read chains and hear about deposits as they happen: what the webhooks carry, how they are checked, and how we get you live.

Who Alchemy is

Alchemy is a blockchain developer platform. Its node API reaches many chains, among them Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tron, Solana, Polygon PoS, BNB Smart Chain, Arbitrum and Base, and around it sit data APIs, tools for wallets and rollups, and webhooks that push onchain activity to your servers.

Payment companies, fintechs, exchanges and onchain apps use it to read chains and send transactions without running nodes. Its Address Activity webhooks, which report transfers to the addresses you watch, are why Alchemy is one of the node providers our module connects to.

What it does in your platform

  • Custody & wallets

Gives the module node access on the chains you support, and pushes deposits to it: an Address Activity webhook watches your customers' deposit addresses and reports each incoming transfer, which the module then confirms, screens and credits.

How the connection works

The module talks to Alchemy through each chain's node API, and Alchemy pushes address activity to the module by webhooks signed with HMAC SHA-256. The API key and the webhook signing key stay in your platform's secrets.

  1. Addresses watched

When the module creates a deposit address, it adds it to an Address Activity webhook through Alchemy's API.

  2. A transfer arrives

Alchemy posts a signed webhook with the transfer: the addresses, the asset and value, the block and the transaction hash.

  3. Checked on the chain

The module verifies the signature, then follows the transaction through the node API until it meets your confirmation rule.

  4. Screened and credited

The deposit is screened and credited, and the movement appears in the backoffice.

  5. Withdrawals out

When the module broadcasts a withdrawal itself, it sends the signed transaction through the node API and reconciles it with the chain.

Next to other providers

Address Activity webhooks cover Alchemy's EVM chains and Solana. On Bitcoin and Tron, which its node API serves too, the module finds deposits by reading new blocks instead, so every chain ends in the same flow.

Alchemy can be your only node provider or one of several, with Infura, QuickNode or your own nodes serving other chains. The rest of the platform does not change either way.

When Alchemy fits best

A strong fit when

  • You want deposits pushed to your platform by webhook, not only found by reading blocks.
  • You want Bitcoin, Tron and Solana from the same provider as Ethereum and its layer twos.
  • You want mainnet and testnet access to the same chains from one account.

Also worth a look

  • Infura or QuickNode, if your team already works with one of them.
  • Your own nodes, when you want no third party between your platform and the chain.

How we get you live

  • The contract

We help you get your Alchemy account and contract in place, with the networks you plan to support.

  • Webhooks and networks

We enable your networks and create the Address Activity webhooks, which the module keeps up to date as customers get new addresses.

  • The keys

The API key and the webhook signing key go into your platform's secrets, so every webhook is checked before the module acts on it.

  • A full test run

The whole flow runs on testnets such as Ethereum Sepolia and Solana Devnet, from a deposit to a reconciled withdrawal, before real funds move.

Questions

Asked about this connector.

How do we get started with Alchemy?

Talk to us. We help you get the Alchemy account and contract in place, set up the networks and webhooks with you, and run the whole flow on testnets before your first real deposit.

Which chains can the webhooks watch?

Address Activity webhooks cover Alchemy's EVM chains and Solana. On Bitcoin and Tron, the module reads new blocks through Alchemy's node API instead, so deposits are found either way.

What if a webhook does not arrive?

Alchemy retries failed deliveries with a growing delay, and the module also reconciles balances with the chain. Any difference goes to a queue in the backoffice instead of going unnoticed.

Do the webhooks replace reading the chain?

No. A webhook tells the module that a transfer happened; the module still checks the transaction on the chain and waits for your confirmation rule before crediting it.
