Who Eventus is

Eventus is a trade surveillance software company based in Austin, Texas. Its Validus platform, launched in 2015, covers trade surveillance, transaction monitoring, algo monitoring and market risk across equities, options, futures, FX, fixed income and digital assets.

Banks, broker-dealers, futures commission merchants, trading firms, exchanges, crypto platforms and regulators use it. In 2026 the private equity firm Terminus Capital Partners made a majority investment in Eventus, which kept its brand and leadership. It is one of the market surveillance vendors our matching engine connects to.

What it does in your platform

  • Matching engine

Reads every order, change, cancellation and fill from your order books and runs surveillance procedures for market abuse, around the clock. Procedures can be set for the rules of the markets you are licensed in, and alerts go to your compliance team.

How the connection works

The engine sends its order and trade records to Validus, which takes data over FIX-based connectivity and APIs. The credentials stay in your platform's secrets, and Validus runs in Eventus' cloud or on your own infrastructure.

  1. Orders are recorded

Every order, amendment, cancellation and fill in your engine is recorded in its audit trail.

  2. Validus takes them in

The records flow to Validus, which takes structured or raw data without a rigid normalisation step.

  3. Procedures run

Surveillance procedures check the activity for market abuse, around the clock, as crypto markets need.

  4. Alerts are raised

Matches become alerts for your compliance team, and Validus also offers its alerts, reports and data queries through APIs.

  5. A decision is recorded

Your team reviews each alert in Validus and records the outcome. Each alert traces back to the orders and fills in the engine's audit trail, which they also see in the admin backoffice.

Next to other providers

Eventus and Solidus Labs are the two market surveillance vendors the matching engine connects to. Both work from the engine's records of every order and fill, and if you also run traditional markets, such as a stock exchange, Validus can watch them in the same platform.

The order books, the audit trail and the APIs your traders use belong to the engine. Choosing Eventus now, or moving to another surveillance vendor later, does not change your apps or your traders' integrations.

When Eventus fits best

A strong fit when

  • You run, or plan to run, markets in several asset classes and want one surveillance platform for all of them.
  • You are preparing a licence application and want an established surveillance platform with procedures for your regime.
  • Your security team prefers an on-premises deployment, or a vendor with a SOC 2 Type II report.

Also worth a look

  • Solidus Labs, the other surveillance vendor the engine connects to, built around crypto market structure.
  • Wallet screening from Chainalysis, Elliptic or TRM Labs, through our KYC / AML module, for the on-chain side of compliance.

How we get you live

  • The contract

We help you get your Eventus account and contract in place, with the procedures and the deployment that fit your licence.

  • The procedures

We map the engine's data to Validus with Eventus, and set up with you the surveillance procedures and thresholds for your markets.

  • The keys

The credentials for Validus go into your platform's secrets and nowhere else, whether Validus runs in Eventus' cloud or on your own servers.

  • A full test run

Before go-live, test markets in your engine send their orders to Validus, and your team checks that the expected alerts appear.

Questions

Asked about this connector.

How do we get started with Eventus?

Talk to us. We help you get the Eventus contract in place, connect the engine's data to Validus, set up the procedures for your markets and test the alerts before go-live.

Can Validus run on our own infrastructure?

Yes. Eventus runs Validus in its cloud, and on-premises deployment is available too.

Does Validus cover crypto around the clock?

Yes. Crypto exchanges have used Validus since 2018, and it runs around the clock as those markets do.

Can we get Validus alerts outside Validus?

Validus offers API access to its alerts, reports, workflows and data queries, so outcomes can be linked back to your own systems.
