Our own ledger, not a third party's
Paynoramic Ledger is the module at the core of every platform we build. We tailor it to the product it runs, from the accounts and currencies of a crypto card app to the holdings of a brokerage, and at launch you receive its source code and its data.
Every movement is recorded as balanced debits and credits, in real time and in any currency or token. Balances are derived from the entries, never edited, so the history explains every number and an auditor can replay any day.
What it does in your platform
Ledger
It is the book of record every money module writes to: holds, reservations and pending balances, fees, interest and revenue accounts, a daily reconciliation against external statements, and statements and audit exports.
How it works, from a payment to the month-end close
The same path for every movement, whichever module it starts in.
The amount is held
A card is authorised or a payout is requested, and the ledger puts a hold on the amount. The available balance drops at once, before any money has moved.
The payment is booked twice
When it completes, it is recorded as balanced debits and credits in its own currency or token, with any fee on your revenue accounts. The hold is released, and the balance follows from the entries.
The day is reconciled
Bank statements, card processors' settlement files and blockchain confirmations are matched entry by entry. Any difference waits in a queue in the backoffice.
Any day can be replayed
Statements and audit exports come straight from the entries, so an auditor can replay any day, from its opening balances to its reconciliation.
With the tools around it
Each day's totals go to Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite or SAP as journals on your chart of accounts, and every entry can flow to BigQuery, Snowflake or PostgreSQL for your analysts. Bank statements come in as camt.053 or MT940.
If you already run a core banking system, Mambu or Thought Machine, it stays the book of record: the ledger posts the platform's transactions to it, mirrors the balances for your apps and keeps the two in sync.
When it fits
A strong fit when
- You want fiat and crypto in one set of books
- Your balances must be provable to an auditor, any day
- You want the ledger's source code and data as your own
Also worth a look
