Do we have to launch everything at once?
No. At the start you choose which parts the app carries: accounts and cards, crypto, investing, or all of them. Each part is a module already in production, so one left out can be added later without a rebuild, often once its licence or partner contract is in place.
Which partners hold the money, the crypto and the shares?
Licensed partners you choose, through connectors that already exist: accounts and IBANs with banking-as-a-service providers such as ClearBank, Banking Circle, Modulr or Swan, cards with issuer processors such as Marqeta, Thredd or Nium, crypto custody with Fireblocks, BitGo or Copper, and shares with brokers such as Alpaca, DriveWealth or Upvest. With licences of your own, the same modules connect to your own bank, card programme, keys or broker.
Who sets the exchange rates and fees?
You do, in the backoffice: a margin on the live rate for each currency pair, crypto included, which can vary by customer tier, and the fees for exchanging, spending and investing. Customers see the rate and the fee before they confirm, and the quote holds for its window.
What about licensing and compliance?
Each part of a super app is regulated on its own. In the EU, accounts need an e-money or payment institution licence or a bank, cards a regulated issuer, crypto an authorisation under MiCA, and shares an investment firm authorised under MiFID II. In the UAE, payment accounts and stored value are licensed by the Central Bank, and crypto by the regulator where you are set up, such as VARA in Dubai or the FSRA in ADGM. Many companies launch each part under a licensed partner first. The app ships with KYC/AML, transaction monitoring, Travel Rule messaging and regulatory reporting, configured for your legal setup.
Do I really own 100% of the app?
Yes. On launch you receive the full source code of the mobile apps, the account, card, crypto and investing integrations and the backoffice, with infrastructure configuration and documentation. There is no licensing fee, no revenue share and no lock-in.
